When your wanting dinner fast and not have a lot of dishes to clean up afterwards, the George Foreman Grill is the thing to use. I hadn’t used the grill in forever. So when I wanted Shrimp Quesadillas the other evening I decided to break out the George Foreman and see what he could do for me.
I love love love to cook, but hate hate hate to do all the dishes afterwards. This grill is the perfect thing to use when your sick and tired of cleaning dirty pots and pans. The interchangeable plates are ceramic and non stick. Which means they are perfect for just wiping off any excess food or grease/oil and they are dishwasher safe.
The Foreman that I have is pretty high tech compared to other ones that I have seen. My mom actually gave it to me a while back while cleaning her kitchen out. I use to have the basic one when they first came out years ago, but have since thrown it away due to using it way to much. When I was a single mom raising 3 boys, it for sure came in handy cause clean up was such a breeze. It’s not only easy to use but very healthy as well. You don’t have all the grease that comes with frying food in a pan. All the fat and grease runs off into a tray.
The ceramic non stick plates are interchangeable and so easy to change. There is a grill, a steak grill, waffle maker and griddle type plate. So many different ways to cook food. I have decided to start making more meals using my George Foreman Grill, just to save some time on clean up.
The other night when I was trying to figure out what to fix for dinner, which was just gonna be my husband, 10 year old son and I, I choose the quesadillas. I did cook the shrimp in my cast iron skillet before hand, but used the George Foreman Grill to cook the quesadillas.
Ingredients for Shrimp Quesadillas using my George Foreman Grill

- 1 tsp dried parsley
- salt & pepper
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 cup of Taco Blend Shredded Cheese
- 4 tortillas
- Dollop of sour cream
Directions for Shrimp Quesadillas
- In a medium pan, add olive oil and shrimp. Add spices to shrimp and cook until done.
- Plug in your George Foreman and set the temp to 400°.
- Spread salsa onto flour tortilla, add 5-6 pieces of shrimp, top with taco blend shredded cheese.
- Fold tortilla in half, lay on bottom tray of George Foreman Grill and close lid.
- Set time on grill for 4 minutes. Once timer goes off your Shrimp Quesadilla is done. ENJOY!
- Top off the tortilla with a dollop of sour cream or more salsa.
The best thing about using the George Foreman Grill is the no mess. It literally took me 2 minutes to clean up afterwards. I took a little warm water and soap and just wiped the plates off. It was so awesome to say the least! Why I stopped using the grill years ago is beyond me. It may have just been that my family grew to 5 instead of just me and the boys, but I can still cook big meals for my family even with this grill.
Ladies and Gents, try this grill… You will not be disappointed at all.
Til next time,
