When you Christmas shop for your family, do you also shop for your pets? If not, then its about time that you do. Your beloved pets deserve Christmas gifts just as much as you do.
I have been a pet lover for many many years. Growing up I had both cats and dogs, which dogs have always been my favorite. Last November is when I lost my best friend, Marceous. I had taken her into my home about seven years ago and she was literally the best dog ever! She was the most gentlest, kindness and lovable dog I have ever been in contact with, she was a Brindle Boxer. My boys loved her so much and so did I. The morning I woke to find that she had died in her sleep, was pretty rough, she was only 10 years old. But I knew she was no longer in pain. She had not been feeling well for a couple months, her arthritis was getting the best of her. Yep, she was taken away far too early from me, but she will always be loved and missed.
Before she left this world she was able to mother our white boxer, Addison. Now Addison, she is a wild and rambunctious dog, quite different from Marceous. This girl never stops and plays with anything and everything. Last December, right after Marceous passed, I accepted another brindle boxer in my life. Gemma is a small version of Marceous, but very very timid. She has her moments where she wants to play, but with her being seven years old, she’s out of the puppy stage. Addison is a little over two years old, so she is still full speed ahead all the time.
Our newest addition as of six months ago is our kitten Opie. It has been several years since I’ve had a cat, and really wasn’t even planning to get one until my niece’s cat had babies. My husband absolutely hated cats until now. Now him and Opie sleep together and cuddle all the time. He’s turned out to be one awesome pet, cause if he was a wild one I’m certain he would be an outside cat. Addison and Opie have become the best of friends as well and are constantly playing and wrestling around with each other. I try to keep as many toys around for them as I possibly can, but they usually don’t last long after Addison gets a hold of them.
Dogs get just as excited as people do when getting new presents, so why not surprise them at Christmas with a few new toys in their stockings. Now Gemma I’m sure could care less if she gets new toys or not, but Opie and Addison will be tickled to death. I have picked out a few that I would gift to my dogs/cats and wanted to share with the world in case anyone needed a few ideas.
