Saturday shenanigans! #letsgetitstarted #chickenwings #pestosauce

I was finally able to sleep in this morning til 9am, it’s been awhile since I have slept in that late. Being busy at work the last 2 weeks finally caught up to me and it was so nice to sleep. I do enjoy getting up early on the weekends, it gives you so much more time to get your stuff taken care of. Since the hubby was up before me, he was able to get started on a few preparations for today, before he headed to the boat and RV show with his father. Now it’s just Colton and I chillin out, well me chillin, him playing PS4.

Since I’ve been up I have started the laundry, which of course begins with the duffel bag that my college son brought in again this weekend. This may be the only reason he comes and sees his mother.

I have ran the sweeper, I so have to get a new one as well, mine has finally decided to kick the bucket. This is the third or fourth sweeper that I have went through in the past 5 years or so, but if I don’t sweep it drives me bonkers. I think my next purchase will be a Dysel, it just better be worth the money!

Since Sierra and Dennis are coming out this evening to play cards the hubby and I decided to make some food to go along with our game playing. We are big fan of wings so that’s what is on the menu for today. The hubby started his buffalo wings this morning before he left and boy they smell so good, he just used a bottle of Buffalo Wings sauce.

I have never cooked them in the crock pot before so we decided we would try this technique out and see how good they turn out. I wanted something a little different so I am making Italian Parmesan wings. It just consists of a bottle of any Italian dressing and a half cup of Parmesan cheese. I used the grated kind cause I’m out of fresh parmesan. Once they are done I will probably sprinkle a little more parmesan over the top of them.

I will let you guys know how it all turns out.

I then decided to make some homemade pesto sauce from the bag of spinach I had in the fridge. I will use this later on in the week for a pasta dinner.

  • Bag of spinach
  • Basil
  • Pine nuts
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • Salt and pepper
  • Olive oil
  • Parmesan cheese

Directions: Mix all together in a blender.

I think to go with the wings I will make some potato chips, I know my neice really loves them.

Happy Saturday ya’ll!! Hope everyone enjoys this day! I know I’m going to cause this will be the last Saturday that I will have free for the next month. Colton has archery tournaments the next four Saturday’s.

Til next time,
